in the beginning by woodrowgerber woodrowgerber : in the beginning.
Indie/electronic pop fusion - for daydreams, nights out, and everything in-between.

woodrowgerber (aka Chad Gerber) takes his signature genre fusing sound to a new level once again as he blends elements of electronic, folk, classical, rock, and hip hop, layered over thoughtful lyrics and catchy hooks. In the Beginning is the culmination of 10 years of experimenting with sounds, song writing structures, and melodies as woodrowgerber performed, recorded, and toured the country with his other musical projects. The drifting melodies and classical compositions take fans on a moody journey touching upon complex emotions while subtly telling a story.

Being somewhat of an outcast among both old school musicians who regard the digital realm as not being "real" music, and digital producers who regard the old school instruments as archaic, woodrowgerber set out to make in the beginning with no rules. The songwriting and production process involved trying whatever techniques he once deemed taboo, and working with them to make music that moves the soul and invokes dreams of the mind. Starting his career out as only a professional guitarist, woodrowgerber has come a long way since his beginning and wanted to highlight his instrument in a tasteful way on the album. Rather than use guitar as the backbone of the compositions as he has done in the past, he decided to cut it out as much as possible in the songwriting process, then return to it and create tasteful fills and licks in moderation in order to blend it more seamlessly with the electronic elements. The result has won over electronic lovers and guitar lovers alike.

Hard to define and easy to listen to, In the Beginning is unlike any record you've heard in all the right ways.
