Empty Man by Tom Paul Tom Paul : Empty Man.
Roots rock meets contemporary folk.

You'd expect to hear these songs on the radio while driving along through some parallel universe. Each of the songs on Tom Paul's newest release, "Empty Man" is recognizable yet still original. The hooks grab you and pull you into something familiar and warm. You'll find yourself singing along to songs that feel something like Bob Dylan, The Beatles, or maybe Tom Petty. His lyrics are honest and expressive. They join perfectly with the music to take you into Tom's world. It's a world where you can relax with your mate on a sunny afternoon in the park, or risk everything for love. It's also a world where our obsessions and compulsions can have us tossing and turning at night looking for a way out of a mess. But even in the worst days, we sense that Tom believes there is the possibility of redemption if we are only will to try.

Tom teams up with drummer Charlie Morgan to present tight pop-rock numbers. His friend, Ralph Edgar, contributed lyrics to the song about a Monongahela River Barge called the "Annie B Wilson". Danie Paul, his son, sang harmonies on "Eagle over 79" which is about a real life experience of seeing Bald Eagles returning to Tom's native Western Pennsylvania. Otherwise, Tom plays all the instruments, sang, and mixed the album himself in 2011 and 2012.
