Musical Evolution by Music of the Spheres Music of the Spheres : Musical Evolution.
Small baroque chamber ensemble.

"Musical Evolution" explores the language of Baroque music from its wild beginnings through the development of more formal structures still in use today. The wild improvisatory violin sonatas of the 1660's used richly colorful and dissonant harmonies and an unrestricted form, which allowed for an extremely wide range of expressive possibilities and experimentation that sound strange to our ears today. Throughout the 1700's, the sonata gradually morphed and crystallized into the symmetrical form exemplified by Georg Frieric Handel, Arcangelo Corelli and Antonio Vivaldi, who created the first harmonic and structural expectations which still govern our responses today.
Songs:

1. Sonata for violin and continuo (Georg Muffat)
2. Sonata V - 8 Sonatae a Violino Solo (Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber von Bibern)
3. Grave Allegro Largo Presto - Sonata in G Major for cello and continuo (Domenico Gabrielli)
4. Andante Larghetto Allegro Adagio Allegro - Sonata in g minor Op1 no6 HWV 364 (George Frideric Handel)
5. Fantasia and Fugue in A minor BWV 904 (Johann Sebastian Bach)
6. Sonata quinta - Sonatae unarum fidium (Johann Heinrich Schmelzer)
7. La Biancuccia Op4 no4 - (Giovanni Antonio Pandolfi Mealli)
