Tokee:
Dark ambient with an alchemical twist.
|
Born in a formerly known Empire of Evil and currently residing in the Holy Land,
classically trained Anatoly Grinberg a.k.a. Tokee started composing music in the
early 00's and released his first works in 2004 on US based experimental
netlabel BedroomBrain Records under the alias ARG.
Although the first recordings can be described as dark ambient mainly, Tokee
constantly explores the multiple range of electronic genres.
Fascinated with various currencies of electronic music and inspired by dinosaurs
like Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy, Can etc, his latest efforts combine
tight mechanical-sounding IDM and industrial beats, cinematic-like ambient
themes, psychotic trance shockwaves, evolving into incredible melodic
soundscapes both aggressive and melancholic.
