Psycliq : Results Not Typical.
An electric heart with an organic soul.
Results Not Typical is the third album from Psycliq, a one-person outfit from
the Boston area that usually produces a unique mix that can generally be
described as electronic rock. This album, however, is quite different from the
normal fare. The jazz, blues, and classical elements that underlie the usual
Psycliq music are brought to the fore in the artist's most ambitious project to
date.
The sonic landscape ranges from the majestic "Those Born of Kings" into the
contemplative "Another Empty Hour In Every Day"; from the lonely blues rock of
"Dustwood" to the brash groove of "Setting Out"; from the sly jazz of the
"Incognito Shuffle" to the complex layers of "Mettle"; this album manages all of
these diverse styles and more with aplomb and grace.
This may not sound like the usual Psycliq fare, but be assured that the roots
are still there, pulsing with every ounce of life and energy you would expect.
Expectations and formulas may be left at the door, thank you.
All songs and instrumentation are once again the sole work of Justin Richer, the
unique mind behind this unique band.
