Mysterious Encounter by Laura Dreyer Laura Dreyer : Mysterious Encounter.
Jazz, funk and rock with a brazilian flair.

Laura Dreyer and "Mysterious Encounter" is a highly original mixture of Brazilian rhythms and textures combined with the exciting spontaneity of jazz improvisation and catchy lyrical melodies. Featuring the compositions of saxophonist/flutist Laura Dreyer, the band's infectious grooves and sensuous harmonies will appeal to audiences on many different levels.

Laura formed "Mysterious Encounter" in 1989 out of a desire to explore Brazilian musical idioms in a jazz context, both as an improviser and a composer. She has performed with such noted Brazilian musicians such as pianist Dom Salvador, guitarist Romero Lubambo, drummer Portinho, vocalist Leny Andrade, percussionist Helcio Milito and pianist Weber Iago, and many other well known jazz musicians. The other band members have performed with Sivuca, Tania Maria, Andy Narrell, Paquito D'Rivera, Claudio Roditi, Toots Thielemans, and many more. Their combined talents produce a rich mixture of Brazilian jazz that is fresh and distinctive!
