Simone Angele and Amir Kalhor : India meets Persia.
Classical styles of india and persia and oriental fusion.
On India meets Persia Simone Angele and Amir Kalhor take the listener on an intricate musical journey. The artists explore the classical styles of India and Iran, using the traditional instruments of the respective countries: the Indian Sitar and the Persian Tar.
The artists strive towards unity and come together in the two duets "India meets Persia" (track no. 2) and "Persia meets India" (track no. 5), where the two styles converge like two voices from different lands, each speaking with its own accent. The pieces "Kirvan" (track no. 1), "Isfahan" (track no. 3), "Solitidi" (track no. 4), and "Joys of Spring" (track no. 6) represent original Indian and Persian classical styles. "Sunny Days" (track no. 7), a pop piece with vocals and sitar, ends the musical journey and takes the listeners back to the west on a light note.
Babua Pahari is the percussive force on Tabla and accompanies Simone Angele in the Indian pieces.
