Alan Marchand : Mojo Trippin'.
Toe teasin' jazz tunes for all occasions.
"Mojo Trippin'" indicates that you've got your magic workin' for you and you're
flyin' high - like Jim Cramer, whose shouted "BOO-YAH!" on MSNBC's "Mad Money"
can be heard across the land. Check out our hep-cat "Boppin' Nanny" as she
dances to a 1960s bebop tune along with a sprightly piano trio. You saluted him
in the role of Emperor Nero in Mel Brooks' "History of the World, Part One"
(1981). You genuflected when he appeared as the Pope in "Johnny Dangerously"
(1984). And now, Dom DeLuise is immortalized in song: "Ev'ry Little Breeze
Whispers Dom DeLuise". "In Hoc Señor Wences" is a play on a Latin phrase, "In hoc signo vinces" (By this sign thou shalt conquer). Stroll over to Wikipedia to
learn about Señor Wences. Our arrangement features piano, alto flutes, and baritone saxophone solos backed by gentle Latin rhythms.
Then there's "Midnight
Busboy", our jazzy salute to the fellow who cleans up after the party's over.
"Paris Penny": That's how I once heard a Texan ask for directions from Newark to
Parsippany, NJ! Our upbeat jazz arrangement features acoustic piano and mellow
vibraphone solos backed by an energetic piano trio. "Peppermint Patty", our
salute to Charles Schulz's "Peanuts", opens with rubato piano and bass followed
by an energetic piano trio. You might be in the mood for a turn-of-the-century
ragtime piano performance in "Take It In Stride" Finally, there's "Veni, Vidi,
Visa!" - these words, "I came, I saw, I bought!", most likely were spoken by
Mrs. Julius Caesar while returning from the Forum Mall. Our lively jazz
arrangement features piano and vibraphone solos backed by jazz electric guitar
and a sprightly rhythm section.
